Horace W. Wilkie, Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, died here today of a heart attack. He was 59 years old.

Justice Wilkie of macusond and his wife, the former Marion Beardsley, were visiting al daughter, Joan Murdok.

Justice Wilkie was appointed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 1962 by Gov. Gaylord Nelson. He was elected to a full term in 1964 and became Chief Justice in 1974. He was a former; member of the Wisconsin Legislature.

Justice Wilkie graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1938, received his law degree from George Washington University in 1944 and did graduate work at the University of Minnesota and American University. He served in the Coast Guard in World War II.

Besides his wife, he leaves five daughters, four brothers, a sister and a grandchild.
