Official statistics released by managers of Canada’s Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP) show that to date, only 103 of the 1,859 claims associated with the COVID-19 shots have been paid out, and the total sum already approaches $7 million.
VISP was launched in December 2020 after the Canadian government gave vaccine makers a shield from liability regarding COVID-19 jab-related injuries.
The 103 claims that have been approved to date are, as noted by VISP, “where it has been determined by the Medical Review Board that there is a probable link between the injury and the vaccine, and that the injury is serious and permanent.”
Thus far, $6,695,716 has been paid out in total.
As per a 2021 memo from the nation’s health department, “A total of $75 million in funding has been earmarked for the first five years of the program.”
According to the VISP website, the purpose of the program is to “ensure that all people in Canada who have experienced a serious and permanent injury as a result of receiving a Health Canada authorized vaccine, administered in Canada on or after December 8, 2020, have fair and timely access to financial support.”
VISP offers no information as to how long a claim could take.
Officially, in Canada, there have been 442 deaths linked to the COVID vaccine, and Canada’s Public Health Agency data claims that 98.2 million vaccine doses have been administered.
However, health officials assert that “Although these deaths occurred after being vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine they are not necessarily related to the vaccine.”
Out of these doses, there were a total of 55,145 “adverse events.” Such events are anything from a headache or fainting to sudden death.
Looking at official totals, there have been reports of 332 blood clots, 289 strokes, and 283 heart attacks. There have also been 198 cases of facial paralysis reported, with some 99 spontaneous abortions reported as well. There have been 79 kidney injuries reported and 37 instances of liver damage.
Despite the known side effects from the jabs, on Tuesday of this week, Canada’s National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) recommended Canadians get a booster COVID shot come the fall.
In late June, LifeSiteNews reported on how further details show that research conducted by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s own office shows that many Canadians intentionally hid their COVID jab status from federal pollsters, meaning the actual jab rates may not be as high as initially reported.
Moreover, Canada’s Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) database relies on individuals to ask their doctor, nurse, or pharmacist to complete the AEFI form, which sometimes can be difficult for individuals to obtain.
The Canadian Adverse Events Following Immunization Surveillance System is managed by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
A recent instance where a person who was said to have died from the COVID shot, but whose family was denied compensation under VISP, was reported on by LifeSiteNews last week.
In this instance, the father of 17-year-old Sean Hartman, Dan, said that an American pathologist has determined that the novel COVID-19 vaccine was responsible for his son’s sudden death. Sean died 33 days after getting one dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 injection.
As reported recently by LifeSiteNews, there is evidence that the Canadian federal government under Trudeau knew COVID shots could cause serious injuries, and instead of warning Canadians, decided instead to combat negative views of the vaccines by formulating “winning communication strategies” to convince the public to take the jabs.
Recently, 41-year-old Ross Wightman from British Columbia launched a lawsuit against AstraZeneca, the federal government of Canada, the provincial government of his province, and the pharmacy at which he was injected after receiving what he considers inadequate compensation from VISP.
Wightman received the AstraZeneca shot in April 2021 and shortly after became totally paralyzed. He was subsequently diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS).
